*$100 NON-REFUNDABLE DEPOSIT* *$10 Service Fee* Training with the Westlake VFD EMS- we focus on Patient Assessment, highlighting the most pertinent conditions you will encounter as an EMT. The In-Class portion of the course emphasizes the normal physiology and then correlates with the pathophysiology through all the body systems- Cardiovascular, Pulmonary, Musculoskeletal, Endocrine, Obstetrics, Renal, Gastrointestinal, and Neurology. Students learn how to assess Medical and Trauma cases and providing interventions to their patients. The course focuses on Skills Training as required by the National Registry and Texas Department of State Health Services. Clinical Internships are included in the course, offering 72 hours of Ambulance and Emergency Department "hands on" patient encounters. Clinical Internships are lead by preceptors to continue student learning in the field.
